Congratulations on making the most important decision of your life—to follow Jesus Christ! At Oasis of Praise Christian Ministries International, we are thrilled to welcome you into our family. As you embark on this new journey, this guide will help you understand what it means to be a Christian and how to grow in your faith.

What to Expect as a New Christian

1. Growing in Your Faith

  • Daily Bible Reading: Spend time each day reading the Bible to learn more about God’s Word and His promises for your life. Start with the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) to learn about Jesus' life and teachings.

  • Prayer: Develop a habit of prayer. It's your way of communicating with God. Talk to Him about your hopes, fears, and daily experiences.

2. Baptism

  • Significance: Baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes your old life being washed away and your new life in Christ.

  • Next Steps: If you haven't been baptized yet, speak to one of our pastors to learn more about taking this important step.

3. Joining a Community

  • Fellowship: Becoming part of a church community is essential. Here, you’ll find support, encouragement, and opportunities to serve.

  • Small Groups: Join a small group or Bible study to connect with other believers and grow together in your faith.

4. Learning and Discipleship

  • Sunday Services: Attend our weekly services to worship together and hear powerful teachings from the Bible.

  • Bible Study: Participate in our Bible study sessions to deepen your understanding of the Scriptures and how they apply to your life.

5. Living Out Your Faith

  • Witnessing: Share your new faith with friends and family. Tell them about what Jesus has done in your life.

  • Service: Get involved in church activities and community service to live out your faith in practical ways.
